    Accommodation – our premises

Poynings Cattery in Brighton - our Cattery Premises

The outdoor run floor is lined with a rubber sealant and the sides have high boarding for hygiene purposes. Each run has an elevated position for your cat to lay or sit and watch the world go by.

Scratch posts and toys are included and there is an outdoor passageway for safety.

Hygiene and security are of the utmost importance to us. Only cats from the same family can share.

All cats are supplied with a clean fresh bed on arrival which is changed regularly. Your cat’s own bedding, toys, scratch posts etc. can be brought in if you wish, to help him or her feel more at home.

Feeding your cat whilst you’re away

All types of food are provided and individual likes and dislikes can be catered for. We use well-known high-quality products such as Whiskas, Felix, Science Plan and Iams.

Meals are regular – adult cats are fed twice a day, with kittens and older cats according to their individual requirements. All ages of cats are catered for.

    Fresh Water is always available.

If you have special Requirements, please fill in the appropriate box on the booking form, which you will receive when your booking dates have been confirmed.

Immunisation and medication (important – please read)

If your cat requires any medication, we can administer it for you during their stay. All medication must be clearly labelled with the cat’s name and the correct dosage, frequency, etc.

In order to safeguard the health and safety of all cats staying with us, your cat must be immunised against intestinal Feline Enteritis and Cat Flu. You must produce an up to date inoculation certificate, which must be left with your cat during their stay.

Collection and delivery of your cat

Collection and delivery of your cat can be arranged upon request and is priced at £25.00 each way from the local area*.

We recommend using a strong and secure carrier to avoid escape! Our experience has shown that cardboard carriers are usually not strong enough – we prefer not to accept cats in cardboard carriers and will not accept cats without any form of a carrier to house them whilst in transit.

If you do not have a suitable carrier, we can lend you one for the journey!

Reiki For Cats – help your cat relax whilst enjoying its stay with us!

Jane, one of our regular staff, is a qualified and fully insured Reiki practitioner and also has a Diploma in Animal Healing.

Reiki is a simple Japanese energy balancing method developed by Mikao Usui in the early 1900s. The term Reiki is usually translated as “universal life energy” and treats the whole being – physical, emotional, mental and spiritual and aims to help balance the patient’s energy system.  This, in turn, boosts energy levels to help accelerate the body’s natural healing processes.

Reiki is deeply relaxing and helps to instil inner calm, contentment and serenity. It can be used to help maintain health and energy balance in a healthy person or animal, to heal illness, injuries, emotional and physical problems and to ease the transition between life and death.

Reiki is a completely safe complimentary therapy.

We can now offer Reiki treatment in conjunction with your cat’s stay with us or at your home. Please call us on 01273 857 539 or 07711 244735 for full details.

Please note that Reiki/energy healing is not a replacement for a doctor or veterinary surgery,
